Context
In 2020, an opportunity was identified to insert a new digital product into the Paraguayan market. A multi-currency investment platform, with personalized advice. With this, the UX team was responsible for initial research, first designs and first usability tests.
Goal
In this project my role was entirely UI. Based on the first validated wireframes, it was up to me to review the interaction design and apply the visual in line with the design system changes that were taking place.
Challenges
-
Understanding flows - As I was only involved at the end of the process, I felt the need to map the main flows and understand connection points that might not yet be in the wireframes
-
Updating the design system - At the same time as the project, the design system was being reviewed in a responsive way, so some components were falling into disuse and others were being implemented.
Process

Understanding
User flows
As a conclusion to the first exploratory phase, I received the first wireframes to finalize, however, to align the interaction needs, flow designs were necessary. Below are the two main flows worked on in this phase:
Onboarding and investment
Selling investment

Review Wireframes
After structuring the user flows, I was able to return to the wireframes made by the UX designers of this project and organize them correctly to have a full view of both flows.

In this first flow, the customer, after logging in with their bank credentials, goes through a small onboarding process and is presented with investment offers that they can explore and purchase. (The next step of this feature was to connect how we could insert the investor profile questionnaire in the middle of this flow)

In this second flow, once the client already has investments, we focused on showing how they could see their investment categories and carry out quotes and sell their investments.
Validate Design System
At the time, Itaú already had a design system in place. However, with a parallel initiative to make this DS responsive, some components were being updated by the branding team.
As this project was new, part of my work was to consider the new existing components and suggest new ones that we will soon see in the prototypes. Here I present some basic elements used.

Prototypes
Finally, it was possible to design the screens in high fidelity.
In this process I noticed the need not only to create some more intermediate screens, but also to create new components to be considered for the design system:
The product card embracing a new text hierarchy and color feedback bar on the side and also the circular graphic respecting the product colors and accessibility.

Validation
Conclusions
I ended up not finishing this project because I left the company, but up until that point the best part of this project was diving into the best use of the available components and helping the team understand what else needed to be proposed for the new design system that was being improved at the time.
